Organizational Description:
When Americans vote early, they ensure last-minute problems, long lines at the polls, confusing election laws, and voter disinformation cannot prevent us from casting our ballot. But voting early rules – both for in-person and by-mail options – vary widely, which can cause confusion and prevent voters from casting their ballots.
Vote Early Day is a nonpartisan collaboration of nonprofits, businesses, election administrators, media companies, and influencers working to ensure all Americans know their options to vote early so they can overcome the obstacles that arise when voters wait until Election Day. Vote Early Day is a movement to ensure voters know Election Day is the day to vote, not the only day.
We were founded by MTV as a new civic holiday focused on helping every voter know how, where, and when they can vote early. Launched amid a global pandemic, Vote Early Day became a critical resource to ensure no voter had to choose between their health and casting their ballot. In our first celebration, Vote Early Day attracted 134 premier partners and 2,700 community partners from every state nationwide. Over 3,000,000 voters cast their ballots on Vote Early Day alone.
Scheduled the week before Halloween, Vote Early Day reaches Americans as interest in the election peaks through:
- Flagship Events: At least four major events across the country will feature major talent, election leaders, national partners, and thousands of voters.
- Local Celebrations: Through parties at polling locations, community parades to early voting sites, and get-out-the-vote efforts, organizations across the country will build celebrations to attract more Americans to vote early.
- Spreading the Word: Through mass on-air or digital marketing, media companies will give Americans the tools to vote early and point them to local events and resources to cast a ballot.
- Educating and Empowering Voters: Everywhere in America, eligible voters can research their ballots and make a plan to vote. Through traditional and social media, street teaming, SMS outreach, and broadcasting online tools, we will connect with hundreds of thousands of voters to help them identify options to vote early.
- Expanding the Vote Early Movement: We aim to change the culture of how we think about voting by bringing in new and non-traditional voices into the civic space at the national and local levels to meet voters where they are.
Position Goals and Overview:
Our partnerships manager will lead efforts to recruit national and grassroots organizations to celebrate Vote Early Day. They will play an essential role in encouraging Americans to cast their ballot ahead of Election Day by bringing new voices into this movement.
